Updates on 2024 Financial

General Fund : Surplus $40,885.42

  • Thankful for God’s providence as we have a surplus in the General operating Fund from Year 2024

Mission Pledge total: $49,716

Ramp Project Total Expenses: $185,687.04

  • This is not the final number for the total cost of the ramp as there are still outstanding items to be completed



Charitable Receipting

Here are some CRA rules that we have to follow when we issue an official donation receipt (no exceptions):

  • A charity must determine whether or not the donation constitutes a gift: a gift must be given freely; it is a gift of property not a gift of services
  • A charity cannot issue an official donation receipt in the name of anyone but the true donor. The true donor is the individual or organization that made the donation to your charity. If you do not know who the true donor is, you cannot issue an official donation receipt
  • If the provider of the gift asks church to issue a receipt in another name (e.g. son/daughter, etc) then the person MUST provide a written declaration as to who is the true donor and specify the time period of the donation. This will be a record kept on file at church
  • When writing one’s name on the offering envelope, use the legal name used when filing income tax return.
  • When making eTransfers, write the true donor’s name in the “Message” box, use the legal name used when filing income tax return, or provide a written declaration to church for records.
  • If using your membership number, ensure you write the correct number on the envelope.
